The “Quiet Man Bridge” as it is called locally, is located 5 miles outside Oughterard down the Sky Road. This area was the setting for John Ford’s 1950's film "The Quiet Man" starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. The bridge is set in a bit to the left but is visible from the road and is clearly signposted.
Since being featured in the film, it’s now a major tourist attraction.
