St. Patrick's Well - Tipperary

St. Patrick's Well - Tipperary

This lovely tranquil place is just a short distance outside the town of Clonmel.

The church here was built in the seventeenth century, but there are traces of an even older building. Inside the walls is the tomb of Nicholas White of Clonmel who died in 1622.
At the centre of the small lake is a weathered Celtic Cross which dates from early Christian times in Ireland.
To enter the site visitors must descend a long flight of stone steps, so unfortunately it is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
