Nestling among rolling hills in a beautiful riverside setting, the little village of Inistioge is certainly one of the most picturesque villages in Leinster.
It’s a wonderfully relaxing place where one feels they are truly away from the hectic pace of modern life. Here you can stroll along a peaceful river, walk though the woods and gardens at the gracious old Woodstock Estate. There is one or two nice restaurants and also some small and friendly local pubs.
Because of its splendid location, the movies “Circle of Friends” ( 1993) and “Widow’s Peak” ( 1994) were made in the village, bringing in the Hollywood stars Minnie Driver, Mia Farrow, Chris O’Donnell, Adrian Dunbar and Joan Plymouth.
