The Geological Garden at Bunmahon was created by the local Heritage Society in 1999 to raise awareness of the local geology of the area.
The garden, which is just beside the road, outside the village exhibits samples of rock (millions of years old) found in the area with is a big variety of rocks of varying ages on display.
On the footpath that circles around the park there are flagstones that indicate the various geological periods and what types of animal life existed in any given period
