This is the Eastern Passage Tomb at Knockroe,,near Ahenny,Co.Tipperary / Kilkenny borders,,,the River Linguan winds its way,,about 100 Yards away and to the left of the picture and through the Famous Victoria & Ormonde Slate Quarries,,,Then does a bit of a Left and leaves Ahenny Village,,,Where Quarry Workers of old would have lived,,,,It is now a Beautiful Village, the houses all Refurbished,,,but the Architecture is still retained,,,each Home-Owner has Painted Doors and Windows with different Colours of paint,,,,it Really is a Picture,,,,I just keep hoping that one day I will find it Free of Parked Vehicles,,,to get that Picture I would Love to Get and as I said or rambled off course like the Lingaun river,,left Ahenny Village in County Tipperary,,,,Towards the left hand corner in the picture can be seen the West Tomb,,,,Quartz Stones are laid in the Fore-Court area at the front of the Tomb,,then between two upright stones called [orthostats] can be seen the Backstone which is Aligned with the rising Sun from the East at the Winter Solstice on the 21st of December each year,,,This is what makes this Site so Extraordinary,,,as the setting Sun is aligned with the Backstone of the Western Tomb for the same day 21st of December each year,,,,Where both Chambers are Illuminated by the Sunrise and Sunset,,,,
