#4, " Mr.Butler's Bridge," Kilfane Glen & Waterfall,,Nr. Thomastown,Co. Kilkenny.

" Mr. Butler's Bridge," in the Glen of Kilfane,,,,,,, More from this wonderful story,,,,, But first there was a bit of work to do! Vast swathes of wood and copse were cleared, and earlier paths transversing the overgrown woods were found and relaid. The few remains of the little cottage [called "Cottage Orne" after the French style] had to be examined and redesigned as carefully as possible,on the exact footprint of the original. The watercourse had to be made more substantial and bridges had to be built. Most of this early work, took place from 1990 to 1992 and the gardens were open to the public in 1993. Help was obtained from all sorts of knowledgeable and wonderful people and the entire restoration process proved to be a facinating and gratifying experience. And there is always more to do.
