Way back in the late 18th century, Mrs Power of Kilfane House created the Glen and Waterfall as a "far flung" addition to the House's main gardens.In those days, it was meant to be a source of entertainment,to amuse visitors and hold casual supper parties or picnics.As this spot was two long miles away from the "big house,"it also demanded a pleasent wandering through the estate grounds to reach it,either by foot or horseback: quite an undertaking for the Ladies in their long skirts,and quite definitely a lenghty journey for anybody.
