I was searching the internet for information about this site and my son Eesa and I had spent a wonderful afternoon discovering the building and grounds which is near where we live. We took down the inscription above the main entrance which reads VALDE HONOUR ADDVS CSC BEATVS LOADDES FVD DDACUS (AD MDCCCLXV111) The last part we knew was a date which turned out to be 1868 but the best we could get for the rest of the whole translation was INTENSELY OFFICIAL DIGNITY ADDVS CSC HAPPINESS LOADDES FVD DDACUS We can only suppose that the whole motto was something like THE INTENSELY OFFICIAL PLACE OF DIGNITY AND HAPPINESS The building really is so magnificent and I would love to see it used as a centre for the disabled or some other good purpose as we are desperately short of assisted living facilities here in Waterford. the size is fantastic for wheelchair access if the front was just adjusted a little. If you know who is in charge of the building pleased o let me know,
